Problem:
Skanska was running out of space in the storage yard and needed a way to store 50’ lengths of pipe, scaffolding, and related materials used on job sites throughout the metropolitan area.
Solution:
They called on Specialized Storage Solutions and Highlander Equipment to engineer, furnish, and design a structural steel cantilever rack system to be used with a Combilift side loader that would be installed over a 170’ run with a 4’ downgrade from one end to the other. The Combilift would run along guide rail installed on the front of the racks and would reach 25’ of lift.
Result:
Skanska will be expanding the system in 2015 and will install additional heavy-duty structural rack throughout their facility to make better use of their limited space.
