Problem:
Ace Wire and Cable needed additional space to expand their storage capability because they had outgrown their facility in a short period of time. They initially considered expanding their building at a cost close to $1 million dollars, but that was out of their budget. Redcom Construction Management, the contractor that built their facility, recommended Specialized Storage Solutions to analyze the situation and come up with a way to expand in the existing space.
Solution:
Specialized Storage Solutions took the time to sit down and ask the right questions, and we determined that the best solution was to build a 7,000 SF Strongbox Mezzanine over the existing production area and access it using a vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC lift). It would enable them to put an assortment of finished goods and raw materials up there and free up clogged aisles on the main level.
Result:
Ace Wire has been able to accomplish their objective of increased storage capability, easy accessibility to inventory, and save almost $800,000, a win-win scenario for all involved.
