Problem:
Nessenger Chevrolet had outgrown their parts room, which was originally designed with small parts shelving only, leaving no space for bulk parts. The second floor storage area was also too small, leaving no space for bulk storage.
Solution:
Specialized Storage Solutions designed a Strongbox structural steel mezzanine over the main parts department shelving which utilized the existing stairway to access the second-floor mezzanine. The long spans of the beams allowed for an unusual column layout that maintained accessibility to the small parts bins below while creating ample space for their inventory.
Result:
Nessenger Chevrolet has been able to increase their inventory on the mezzanine level for bulk and medium parts without changing the footprint of the parts department on the first floor. This increases productivity and parts sales.
